I hope to be able to say that about knitting one day. I can't even remember how many times I've checked this book out but I'm not giving up. I can cast on (yipee!) but that's about it. I'm going to keep at it and once I get the hang of it I'll decide if I want to buy the book. I never buy books, I check them out of the library several times and then I might buy it.

I think I will cut out the McCalls 5759 jacket tomorrow; it won't be a quick project but I still should have it finished by next weekend.
If anybody has any pointers on learning to knit I'm open to any and all suggestions.
I wanted to say this was my first "blog awards season" and it was a blast. I love the nominate 7 other blogs I found a lot of new blogs to visit because of all the nominations, what fun! I think I'm hooked on blogging I didn't know if I would get bored with it but I really enjoy connecting with other sewers and the fact that everyone is so willing to share their construction techniques.
That's about it for me. Happy sewing, stay safe and warm.

Hey Tanya. Those PJ's are really cute! And they do look cozy and comfortable. I started my first project--well, my first one alone (a pillow). Actually started one the first DCThreads sewing lounge about 3 weeks ago. It's a Kwik Sew pillow pattern. So far, so good. The instructions are very clear. Hope to post some pics soon. You are so right about sewing and blogging. I love it and I've only been doing it for 3 months.
Kwik Sew seems to have some PJ patterns for beginners like me.
I'm way past my bedtime, but saw your comment about an hour ago, logged off, then logged back on :-) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. -JC
Comfy!! My favorite time of the day is when I get to put on my pajamas and stop everything for the day. I love those mornings that I can stay in my pjs for a while too.
I heart PJ's. Your's are cute.
Great looking PJs and I learned to knit from Coats & Clarks "Knitting Made Easy DvD". I stayed home from work and actually sat for 4 hours learning and by the end of the day I was knitting & purling.

I'll explain what I did to the notched collar on my blog.
I love your pajamas. I usually live in mine if I don't have to go anywhere on the weekends.
Debbie Stoller's Book Stitch and Bitch The Knitter's Handbook is really good. I always suggest it to my students.
Hope your next notched collar turns out beautifully. I need to make another real soon just to practice the technique some more.
Thanks for the suggestions to help me on my knitting journey and kudos to Faye for the notched collar instructions, I will definitely use them the next time I attempt a notched collar.

Hey Tanya. Those PJ's look cosey.PJ's are the perfect thing to wear during a comfy knitting session.
Try a knitting DVD.You'll be amazed at fast you'll learn from them.Plus you dont have to worry about putting your knitting down, to turn a page.
Yay for knitting. I hope you catch on, don't worry, one day it will just click and then you will be addicted.
I bought a learn to knit book and a learn to crochet kit from Michaels last time I was in America...I feel so stupid, but there is no one here to teach me. I saw a video on YouTube where a lady was casting on and it looked REAL complicated, lol!
