I have to say the best day was Monday, my cousin had a day off for a change, she usually works a lot, she took me to Best Fabrics in Bossier City, LA and after going there I totally agree with the name. If you’re ever in Bossier City, LA you have to stop by 2380 Barksdale Blvd., or call 318-549-0515. My cousin does a lot of sewing for her Mother and she was looking for black lace to make a suit with a lace overlay, she found a beautiful black lace and navy lace and coordinating satin for the suit, which she promises to send a picture of when it’s finished. Unfortunately Wal-Mart had all my money by the time we got to Best Fabrics, it’s a wonderful fabric store and I will definitely go there again on my next trip but it was a tad over whelming after shopping at the very limited JoAnn and Hancock fabric stores. They had absolutely everything you could ever want but as you can see I still had quite a haul from Wal-Mart’s 1.50/2.00 tables. I also purchased a few buttons, they had really good prices and selection of buttons at Wal-Mart, also as a side note the Wal-Mart we stopped at in Bossier City had won the highest monthly department sales so maybe they will keep their fabric departments.

I did find the same type of fabric that I used to make the gray jacket, it’s a different color so I will just make another suit, I made sure I purchased enough this time.

After fabric shopping we went to Joe’s Crab Shack it was awesome, all in all a great day.

While on vacation I've been working on this shrug to go with this dress. The dress is a RTW sleeveless sheath, I think the shrug will be just what it needs for wearing to work or church.

The green top didn’t get made before I left but I’m itching to do some sewing and it’s already cut out so I should be able to have it finished today.

You guys were busy while I was away, Adrienne I love the green gable I’ll have to look for the pattern and give it a try. Of course Erica didn’t disappoint, love, love, love the electric blue dress. Faye I can’t help you with your pattern APB but I know blogland won’t let you down and once finished it will be exactly what you envision.
It's true what they say, "there's no place like home" it was good to get away but better to be back.
P.S. The dishclothes and scrubbies were big hits, everybody loved them and I gave them all away.

So glad you had a great time. I'm glad you are back home, though.
