A Better Bridesmaid Dress

I wasn't really happy with my not-a-cyber-bride-maids dress that I finished last week but I wasn't sure I would have enough time to finish something else that would be worthy but I think this will meet KMQ's approval.

It had to be something simple and what could be easier than Simplicity 2933. I made the top in a light green satin so I knew it would be quick but I wanted to bring my A game, I think two people pledging their undying love deserves as much.

So the dress is lined.

And I finished both the lining and fabric with a french seam.

It's not finished but neither is the wedding dress lol, I have to sew down the facings and hem it, that will be done tomorrow so I will make my deadline, I just hope she does.

I think what really qualifies this as a bridesmaid dress is I have no idea where I'm going to wear it lol. This will be my last summer outfit.

Up next is McCalls 5672 in a dark teal fabric that I've had since 1997, I know because the receipt was still in the bag with the fabric. I will lengthen the sleeves, I don't like 3/4 length sleeves, what's the point in that?

All my best to the happy bride and groom, I wish you both many, many years of bliss.

FYI...I finished my dress two hours ago. I didn't make my deadline but it's ready now.
