Let the music play

Well, it arrived today. Isn't it pretty. I'm very intimidated by the prospect of learning to play it but I promised myself that I would give it my best effort so I'll keep you posted on my progress or lack thereof, it seems my first task is to purchase a tuner and learn to tune it. My DD is still saying put it on ebay, I said she is a harp hater. If nothing else it gives my extremely neutral living room a punch of color and it would be an awesome conversation piece.

To celebrate I made chocolate chip cookies, okay I just wanted cookies. What is it about the smell of cookies baking that just makes you smile.

I feared that my sewing mojo would go missing because I was feeling very uninspired but not to worry, all I had to do was get started. The skirt is finished and the jacket is coming along nicely. I omitted the shoulder epaulets, they were a bit too 80's for me. I should have this finished before the weekend.

The jacket/skirt will be more suited to Fall than summer. I don't know what it is but I'm feeling ready for, (dare I say it) cooler weather. It's probably because I purchased two pairs of winter boots and now I can't wait to make outfits for them. I started this vest, yippee, it's not a shrug. Don't get to excited because if this doesn't go well it could very well become a shrug, so far so good. The yarn is Lion Brand suede and it's yummy soft. I envision a pair of flannel lined corduroy pants, turtleneck, my new boots and coordinating scarf/hat, see I told you I'm ready for winter, I'm sure I will regret it.

That's it for me, I'm going to go strum my harp lol.

As a life-long string player (violin) I think you get a lot of enjoyment out of the harp. Try to find someone in your area to give you lessons.
