Summer = Seersucker

Last year I made McCalls 5847 it was and continues to be my favorite summer dress but I think this might be this years favorite. Vogue 1236, it's a very simple dress but I love it.

Here it is with my white RTW jean jacket because I will freeze at work without it.

I added a lining which was pretty simple I used the facing as my guide and just sewed the white broadcloth to them.
I was going to make a coordinating belt but tried this white one and like it.

For the lingerie straps I used 1/4 inch elastic and tiny snaps, really glad I didn't skip this step.

All in all a great summer dress pattern.

I recently bought broadcloth to use as lining. I'm hoping it will breathe and be comfortable on hot days.

That dress looks really cute on you. I looked at that pattern but passed it up. I might have to think twice about it. I'm trying to be a good girl.

I like your summer dress! It looks good on you. Last night I cut a gray and white seersucker. I hope mine looks as nice as yours.

Second seersucker garment I've seen this week and I really love it. I've never sewed with seersucker. It really is a great summer fabric and you look cool and fresh in this dress.

Gorgeous! I love seersucker, but can never bring myself to buy it because I can't imagine what to make with it, but this dress is fantastic.
