A Knitting Post

My niece's birthday is Wednesday I don't know if I'm going to make it. I still have to do the armholes and the neckline. And I may need another ball of yarn.

When I visited last year she fell in love with my sweaters to the point of trying to steal them so I thought I would keep her honest and make her her very own. This is another leaf yoke top. I used Patons silk bamboo yarn which is a very loose weave so I went down one needle size after finishing the yoke. It looks perfect but of course I won't know that until she gets it.

I was truly blow away by the Early Fall issue of Vogue Knitting.

I  have to make this.

But my vision is to make the sweater in black and the ruffles using a sheer hounds-tooth, which I was lucky enough to find yesterday at Hancocks. The ruffles in the pattern are made using a ribbon with holes for knitting. I'm sure I can make a ruffle and attach it to the sweater, that's the plan anyway.

 Love this...

and this.

I even want to make the capelet on cover. Vogue knocked it out the park with this issue. There's enough in it to keep my needles busy well through winter.

The leaf yoke knit top for your niece is beautiful and she is going to love it. I might have to get that pattern as I don't have that issue, and I have the perfect yarn for it in my stash. It is just gorgeous, and you did a beautiful job.
