We're Back

We had a wonderful time in Texas. I didn't make this it was a given to my Aunt but it's so cute I thought I would share it. This is the apron front.

This is the back. I may have to make these next year.

I'm almost finished with the "Here's My Heart Cardi", it just needs buttons. It's a free pattern from Cascade Yarns.
I think it came out really cute. I have two heart buttons but the sweater calls for three, why does that always happen.
Heart detail on the sleeve.

There is an error in the pattern the buttonholes don't repeat on the facing so you end up with them on one side. I'm going to make machine buttonholes and call it done.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

I'm Gelin' and Daddy needs a new robe

A couple of years ago I made pj's with matching slippers for Christmas gifts and they were very popular however the slipper design needed some improvement as they would often end up at the end of the stairs long before I did and had no support, so I searched the internet and found the most amazing slipper pattern here. Why didn't I think of inserting a sole insert, I purchased the gel soles and they are amazing. I used flannel, fleece for the lining and faux shearling. These are comfortable and warm, though I'm not sure about washing them with the gel insoles. I can't wait to make the matching pjs.

We're heading to Texas for Thanksgiving and my Father requested (demanded) a new robe. I found this fabric at JoAnns and used my 40% off coupon but it still took all 5 yards to make it. I'm sure he will love it.

I'm off to cut out pj's. I hope everyone has a great weekend and a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I can't work like this but I can knit

This is the state of my bathroom floor.

It's very distracting when people are using noisy equipment.

Which is why I haven't done much sewing lately.

I did manage to knit a couple of these scarfs for Christmas presents. The yarn is Sashay from RedHeart.

Instead of casserole carriers my girl friends will get these, they don't cook anyway.

I totally missed the boat for the Carnival of Skirts but I did manage to squeeze out this top last weekend. It's Simplicity 2344, a Khaliah Ali pattern. I met Khaliah Ali years ago at a party at Jim Browns house, that was during my LA days. She's very nice and down-to-earth. The fabric is a very stretchy knit from Hancock, I don't remember how much I paid for it. This was a quick and easy project.

Hopefully my bathroom will be finished soon and I can get my house back in order. It's amazing how much one room effects all the others.

My prayers are with all my East Coast bloggers. Be safe and be blessed.
