Macy's Music Festival Dress

For this years festival I didn't have a lot of time to sew and was only able to make my outfit for Friday.  Had to do RTW for Saturday, believe it or not we didn't take one picture so all I have is dressform pics.

The pattern is Vogue 2067, it's a Donna Karan design. I made this dress way back in 2000 for a friend and it was banging. I have wanted one for myself ever since then and finally got around to making it.

The olive green color was Mr. G's choice but I really like it and it really popped with my gold accents. I wore a gold statement necklace, gold sandals and earrings. Judging from Mr. G's Roger Rabbit expression when I opened the door, it worked.

Some details. I made it a little more modest by raising the back and sides to make it strapless bra friendly and I also added a full lining. I used a black stretch knit for the lining and ommitted the zipper and made a keyhold closure. I love this dress don't know why I waited so long to make one for myself. Don't know when I will ever wear it again but it was fun and they put me on the jumbo-tron.

Happy Sewing.

Good to see you back and sewing! The dress looks fantastic. You'll have to find somewhere else to wear it - it's summer.
