Knitting Like Crazy

While the rest of blogland is blogging like crazy I've been knitting like crazy. I made this Autumn Caridgan for my darling GD. It is a free pattern on  Raverly. I will have to get a picture of her wearing it.

I also finished this Sequoia for myself. It is also a free pattern available on Raverly. I just can't bring myself to pay 5 or 6 dollars for a knitting pattern when I only buy my sewing patterns when they're on sale for $1.99. It's okay I know I'm cheap but I prefer the term frugal.

I got the yarn at Hobby Lobby on sale for 1.43 per skein. It's Vanna's Choice in Honey. I believe the  toggle closure cost as much as the yarn of course I had a coupon for it.

This is how I style it, with jeans and an infinity cheetah scarf. I received a ton of compliments.

I apologize for the butt shot but the back cable is the star of this pattern and you can't really see it that well on the dress form picture.

Here's a picture of my cute GD to make up for the butt shot. She's getting so big and I whole heartly agree with her shirt she is WONDERFUL.

Be blessed.

Life

This summer was a blur but after breaking my ankle in April I still managed to fit in some fun.

Made it to the Macy's Music Festival which is now the P&G Music Festival. I was on jury duty the week of the concert so I was barely able to finish this jumpsuit. The pattern is Butterick 6130 view D. I'm sorry that I don't have more/better pictures but I probably wouldn't show them anyway. I had planned on sewing the entire day but I was still on jury duty that day so I had to hack it together the night before. Not my best work but as you can see I wore it anyway and had a great time.

Went skating to test out the ankle and I'm happy to say I didn't have any problems. Me and my DD had a great time, although she's no where near as good as I am on skates not that I didn't try, I put both of my kids on skates soon after they learned to walk. It just didn't take.

I haven't been doing much sewing but I have been knitting. I made this neck warmer and a pair (I finished the other one, it's just not in the picture) of fingerless mitts for a friend who is very into her sorority. Personally I think these colors are hideous and I couldn't wait to finish it so I could move on to something else. The mitts are Susie Rogers's reading mitts which is a free pattern from Raverly. I've made these too many times to count. The neck warmer is my own pattern it's just basically a scarf  with a yo k2tog row so the buttons can go through. I hope she likes them.

My very first shawl. It's also a free pattern from Raverly, I can't remember the exact name but it's the shawl for sad people but it made me really happy. I gifted it but plan to make more shawls.

And last but never least. Little Ms. Karmen my DD requested a sweater for her. Again this is a free Raverly pattern that I can't remember the name of, for the body I held two strands of yarn together but ran out for the hood. I purchased the orange yarn when I attended PatternReview in Chicago. She loved it but I couldn't get her to be still to take a picture.

I have been lurking and reading everyone's blogs. There's some exciting stuff going  on in blogland and I'm so happy to see people I've been following for years doing such amazing things.

I won't make promises to do better because sometimes life just gets in the way but know that I'm reading and enjoying all of your creativity.

Be blessed.
